PrecisionTox M40: Advancing Chemical Safety in Brussels

On 13th-14th June 2024, the PrecisionTox project consortium, consisting of 15 partners, gathered in Flagey, Brussels, Belgium, to advance the project’s mission of revolutionizing chemical safety assessment.

The meeting covered key topics such as:

  • Updates on efforts to replace animal testing with innovative methodologies, including molecular biomarkers, comparative toxicology, and high-throughput in vitro methods
  • Presentations on automating testing processes, AI-driven data interpretation, and grouping chemicals by phenotypic patterns
  • Interactive workshops addressing challenges like data consistency and translating findings into regulatory tools
  • Networking sessions and poster presentations that strengthened partnerships and aligned efforts for future milestones

During the meeting, Leitat showcased its activities, including a Presentation of a poster on the chemical selection strategy in the project, and a poster about the ASPIS Academy for Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) and  a Presentation of middle-term in vitro results of imidazoles’ exposure in HepaRG cells and neurotoxicant exposure in neuronal cells, for metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses

The consortium had the opportunity to unwind at Café Belga, strengthening relationships in a more informal setting.
