This event will bring together experts in the field of bioelectrochemical systems to reveal the capacities of these technologies in the water-energy nexus. Organized in the framework of the MIDES project and hosted by Leitat, this event will also present in a first block the main project outcomes in microbial desalination development to date among academia members, technology transfer entities and industries.
A second round of sessions will report relevant experiences in the application of bioelectrochemical systems for other purposes such as CO2 valorisation, energy carriers production, nutrients recovery and wastewater treatment. Finally, it a round table will take place in order to foster a debate among representatives from academia and industry.
